 [ 161 photos ] | Fri, 29 May 2009 02:57:47 AM Popular actress Drew Barrymore, Emmy Rossum and many other celebrities rallied on Hollywood streets in order to protest against the new California ban on gay marriages. Thousands of other activists, along with the celebrities protested about the reinstatement of Proposal 8, which bans same-sex marriages. This was briefly legalized last year. Among the others who criticized California's approval of the ban were George Takei, Kelly Osbourne, Sophia Bush, Kathy Griffin and Deborah Gibson. Gibson said, "I was raised a good Catholic girl and nowhere in church do I remember it ever being an issue for everybody to be treated equally. I can’t believe it''s 2009 and this is still an issue". Osbourne said, "It goes without saying that if you love someone, you should be able to marry them no matter." |
